Welcome to our first issue of the"Movie Spotlight" newsletter!!
Life Lessons from Movies began as a hobby and has evolved into a community of movie enthusiasts. Why Life Lessons from Movies? Movies are cultural drivers, and as quiet as it's kept, many of us learn valuable life lessons by watching them. Don't take my word for it! Just ask someone this question: "What is your favorite movie?" You don't have to do anything else! They will not only tell you what their favorite movie is but they will probably tell you how that movie impacted their life. When we watch movies, some of us just see what is on the surface, while others of us see a deeper meaning in the movie. It doesn't matter how you see it; we all can interpret the movie based on our own personal experiences.
Life Lessons allows you to share movie experiences whether your movie is an Academy Award winner or not--it doesn't matter. What matters to us is how the movie touched your life. We would love to hear about it! |

Movies Impact Our Lives
 There is such a variety of creative expression today when it comes to movies. Diversity of voices and creative pictures produced by traditional Hollywood, Sundance, TCM, IFC, Logo, HBO, IndiePlex, Starz and other Independent film companies provide us with insight into the complexity of the global human experience. As a result, we discuss every movie genre, whether it was produced in 1914 or 2008. Our motto at Life Lessons is "If the movie is released, then it probably has an impact on someone's life."
Movies have the power to make us believe in own utopia. And, they have the power to uncover illusions that make us want to stick our heads out the window and yell "We're as mad as hell, and we are not going to take it anymore!" They can make us laugh out loud, cry, and believe more deeply in our own abilities.

Movies and the Human Experience
 Have you ever noticed that most movies are based on recurring themes like believing in yourself, self-acceptance, self-actualizing, and having the courage to achieve your goals, despite the conditions and circumstance you face? These human experiences provide us with common threads for meaningful movie discussions. We laugh while learning how to manage our lives, our world and ourselves. Movie messages linger in our minds and hearts and impact our lives in very meaningful and transformational ways. And, on those rare occasions, they show us how to make our lives better.
